1. Who we are

AskMike (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides website, booking and garage management software for independent garages in the United Kingdom through askmike.uk.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@askmike.uk.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use AskMike, we may process:

  • Account details such as your name, email address and garage name when you sign up.
  • Garage profile information you add in the dashboard, including contact details, opening hours, branding and website content.
  • Customer and booking data you enter or collect through your garage website, calendar and related features.
  • Billing and subscription information processed through Stripe when you subscribe to AskMike Pro or add-ons.
  • Communications sent through optional features such as review request emails or SMS customer reminders.
  • Technical and usage data such as IP address, browser type, device information and pages visited.

3. How we use your information

We use personal data to:

  • Provide, operate and improve the AskMike platform.
  • Create and host your garage website and booking tools.
  • Process subscriptions, invoices and add-on billing.
  • Send service-related emails and, where enabled, SMS messages on your behalf.
  • Provide customer support and respond to enquiries.
  • Monitor security, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.
  • Analyse product usage to improve AskMike.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where UK GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests — to operate, secure and improve AskMike in a way that does not override your rights.
  • Consent — where required, for example for certain marketing communications.
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with law.

5. Garage customer data

If you use AskMike to store details about your customers, you are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to collect and use that data. AskMike processes that information on your instructions as a service provider to help you run your garage.

6. Sharing with third parties

We use trusted providers to run AskMike. These may include:

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
  • Stripe — subscription billing and payments.
  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • SMS providers — where Customer Reminders or similar features are enabled.
  • Google — where you connect Google reviews or related integrations.

We only share data with providers as needed to deliver the service, and we require them to protect it appropriately.

7. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections.

8. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account data subject to applicable law and legitimate retention needs.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal data, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where applicable, and request data portability. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

To exercise your rights, email hello@askmike.uk.

10. Cookies and analytics

AskMike uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for login, security and core functionality. We may also use analytics to understand how the marketing site and product are used. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings where applicable.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
